well, you know how i got addicted to the computer while I was cyber-dating Ponyo Fan?

my parents got me a therapist and i slowly drifted away from wikia and 24/7 web-surfing, and i got into art and started writing again
i was still kinda depressed tho, cuz i had/have social anxiety and wasn't super good at making friends

but in my Senior year, i finally made a couple friends and started limiting myself to 35/45 minutes on the Internet

then my dad and therapist encouraged me to write a book about my addiction - which we call my "Dark Era" - to help me heal https://amazon.com/Monster-I-Fought-Concrete/dp/1537760416

suddenly i felt happier than i'd ever felt in the past year: i had friends, i was back with the family i truly loved, i wasn't doing asinine things on the 'Net with a fake girl who pulls mean "pranks" for fun, and i finally achieved the dream of being a published author i'd had since i was a little kid

and to this day, i still limit myself to 40 minutes a day (if i even go on at all), i write and draw and paint, i hang out with my best friend from Church at least once a month, and i'm rarely alone.

Finally, three years from this last Friday, i'd been freed from the trap i felt incessantly during my Dark Era. I, the REAL Tanner, had torn off his shell.
~the end~
